The Thirds volleyball squad raised the roof at “The Dos” (our affectionate name for our home court, Court 2) pleasing fans and winning their second game of the year (and of the past 181 years). They avenged an earlier loss to Miss Porter’s School dominating the courts and winning three straight sets; 25-22, 25-22, and 25-17. The team finished the season at 2-6, but were 2-1 at “The Dos”. The match was filled with great team play, but Livia Locke of Southampton and Elise Edmunds of Northampton both had 6 service points, MaryEllen Choo of Easthampton added 7 service points, and Callie Manfredi of Westfield had a whopping 15 points from the line including 9 in a row at one point! A wonderful way to a great season!!

The Thirds volleyball team dropped a three-set match to Cheshire today. Williston won the first set 25-14 before losing the last two sets 25-7 and 25-14. The Wildcat team faces Miss Porter’s at home next Wednesday in its final test of the season. Elise Edmunds of Northampton had 6 points from the service line to go with several key returns from the field. Livia Locke of Southampton added 8 points from the service line while Amelia Sabetti of Amherst contributed 11 more.

The Wildcats thirds volleyballers travelled to the Wyvern Den at Kingswood Oxford this afternoon and were beaten 26-24, 25-23 in the first two sets before rallying to win the third set 25-11. It was a great team effort with a lot of great serves, rallies, and fun!

The Williston 3rds volleyballers dropped a best-of-five set match to Miss Porter’s School in three straight sets today at Miss Porter’s School (25-14, 25-17, and 25-16). The Wildcats struggled at the service line again, and that proved to be the difference. There are just two more chances for the Wildcats to deliver the first ever road win in program history. Perhaps Wednesday’s match at Kingswood Oxford will be the one!

The mighty thirds volleyball team travelled to Stoneleigh-Burnham for its first away game of the 2022 season. The Wildcats dropped the first set 25-13, won the second 25-20, and lost the third 15-4. The team record stands at 1-2 as we head to EHS tomorrow for a scrimmage with our in-town neighbors.

In what will probably be the most exciting thing to happen in the gym this year (if not ever), the Wildcat thirds volleyball team won the first ever thirds volleyball match in school history. It only took 181 years, but Coach Jessica Rohan had her squad firing on all cylinders as they turned an excruciatingly close defeat from their last match into a nail-biting, come-from-behind victory against the mighty Wyverns of Kingswood-Oxford. Coach Mark Conroy did the honors officiating for the historic event. Among the many dignitaries in attendance was proud parent and ex-Williston faculty all-star, Bridgette Choo. Mrs. choo led a rowdy but positive crowd whose support may have very well been the difference down the stretch. The team had another incredible performance with clutch plays by many, but Callie Manfredi of Westfield won 5 straight service points to take the team from a 4 point deficit to the lead in the third and deciding set.
