Commencement 2024 is right around the corner! Williston Northampton School’s 183rd Commencement ceremony takes place on Saturday, May 25, starting at 9:30 a.m. on the Main Quad. The event will be livestreamed on our website.
This year’s keynote speaker is Tommy Reed ’10, a U.S. Navy pilot. Reed graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 2014 with a bachelor’s degree in economics, and was a four-year member of the men’s hockey program. Since graduating, Reed has spent 10 years on active duty, including three deployments to South Korea. From February 2021 to October 2023, Reed worked for the White House Military Office in Washington, D.C., serving as a Watch Officer and contributing to assignments in support of the President, Vice President, and senior White House staff. Read more about Reed from our Spring 2024 Williston Northampton School Bulletin here.
Celebrations for the class of 2024 begin on Friday afternoon, when we host our Academic Awards assembly under the graduation tent. Later that day, we will host our Stoling ceremony—a celebration of mentorship in which Black students who wish to participate are honored by their mentors and given a Kente stole. At 7:30 p.m. on Friday, graduating students and their immediate family members are invited to Baccalaureate in the Phillips Stevens Chapel.
On the morning of Commencement, the tent will be closed until 7 a.m., with the ceremony starting at 9:30. There will be lunch available on the Main Quad at the conclusion of our exercises.
