Fred Allardyce ’59

The Distinguished Service Award is the preeminent service award which the school bestows upon a member of our community. Since its inception in 1959, the Distinguished Service Award has been given to that person who has shown through his or her actions an exceptional measure of devotion to The Williston Northampton School.

Fred Allardyce has served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Cairn Diagnostics, a development-stage medical diagnostic company since 2000. He has served on several boards, after retiring from American Standard, where he served in various positions including Senior Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Controller. Fred is past board chair of Phelps Memorial Hospital and of Westerly Hospital, and has served as Chairman of Financial Executives International, a 15,000-member organization of financial leaders. He has a B.A. in Economics from Yale University and an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago School, where he was the recipient of the Institute of Professional Accountants Fellowship. Fred and his wife, Roberta have two children, Kristin and Craig, and five grandchildren, including Graham Allardyce ’19 and Taylor Noel Livingston ’20, Elizabeth Allardyce ’22, Kathryn Livingston ’22 and prospective student Chase Livingston ’24.
