The Photographers’ Lecture Series kicks off this year with a presentation by Rudy Archuleta. Rudy grew up in Hawaii and moved to New York in 1989 to attend Rochester Institute of Technology. After graduating, he moved to Manhattan where he met then-Williston-alum and current Williston photography teacher Edward Hing ’77 and Janine Norton whose studio, Hing/Norton, hired Rudy as an assistant.

He eventually moved on to pursue a career in music and celebrity portraiture. His work has been described as compelling and direct. His work has been featured in magazines such as Rolling Stone, New York Times Magazine, and Entertainment Weekly. He had a solo exhibit at The Gallery at The Soho Grand featuring portraits of New York musicians. In addition, his work has been featured in several group exhibitions.

Rudy will be on campus for a lecture that is free and open to the public on November 8 at 6:30 p.m. in the Dodge Room in Reed Campus Center.
