The Language Department acknowledged the outstanding performance of Chinese, French and Latin students in a recent assembly. The awardees distinguished themselves at the regional and national level on the three separate national language tests.

In Latin, the following students earned a Certificate of Honorable Merit CUM LAUDE:

Level II: Molly Kinstle ’21

Level III: Anne-Valerie Clitus ’21

Level IV: Kenneth Wang ’20

Level V: Jason Albanese ’20

The following students earned a Certificate of Honorable Merit MAGNA CUM LAUDE:

Level II: Annika von Schoeler-Ames ’22

Level IV: Julia Farnham ’20

The following students earned a Certificate of Honorable Merit MAXIMA CUM LAUDE (a Silver Medal):

Level II: Na Kyung Lee ’21

Level V: Eric Albanese ’20

And, with his outstanding performance on this year’s fourth level exam, Nat Markey ’20 earned a  Certificate of Honorable Merit SUMMA CUM LAUDE (a Gold Medal).

Chinese IV and AP students have been inducted into membership of the National Chinese Honor Society. The National Chinese Honor Society is a scholastic organization that promotes and recognizes students who demonstrate citizenship, leadership, and community service.

Insoo Kang was elected president and Punn Phentrakul vice president of the society.
