Artists at Work

;

Four students earned Working Artist awards at today’s assembly. The awards honor students who commit fully to the their artistic pursuit. The awardees are Maddie Elsea’19, theater; Glede Wang ’19, curation; Tucker Motyka ’22, music; Keyu Lu ’20, painting.

Maddie directed and starred in the play Eurydice for her Williston Scholars Performing Arts project and shouldered a demanding part in the spring musical Crazy for You, all the while being a terrific role model to the cast and crew.

Glede worked hard all year to organize the “Hidden Talents” art show in the Grubbs Gallery because she wanted to show that creativity exists in all aspects of our community.

Tucker has demonstrated excellent musicianship throughout his many commitments. He participated in Caterwaulers and Teller Chorus this trimester. He will lead Billy Joel’s “River of Dreams” with vocals and piano at our concert Tuesday evening.

Keyu has created a series of powerful and emotional large paintings for her Williston Scholars class, devoting extra outside-of-class time and energy to realize her vision, and has grown enormously as an artist as a result.

Congratulations to these creative Wildcats!
