Five students were honored at a Williston Northampton School assembly for their high scores on the PSAT. Many others received recognition for their performance on Advanced Placement tests. Congratulations to all!
National Merit Scholarship Honors
Senior Caleb Stern was named a National Merit Scholarship Semifinalist. Four seniors were named Commended Students. They are Dora S. Gordon, Claire M. Harrison, Robert A. Hill, and Donald J. Poulin.
Every October, about 1.6 million juniors across the country take the PSAT. Those who score in the top 1 percent achieve the distinction of National Merit Semifinalist. About 34,000 Commended Students throughout the nation are recognized for their exceptional academic promise. Although they will not continue in the 2019 competition for National Merit Scholarship awards, Commended Students placed among the top 50,000 scorers, or 3.125 percent, of test-takers.
AP Scholars
Twenty-seven students have been recognized by the College Board for their performance on AP exams taken in grades 10 and 11.
Recognition as an AP Scholar is granted to students with scores of 3 or higher on 3 or more AP exams. Williston’s AP Scholars are:

AP Scholar with Distinction is granted to students who receive an average score of at least 3.5 on all AP Exams taken, and scores of 3 or higher on 5 or more of those exams. They are:
