Impact Report

A REMARKABLE YEAR, A REMARKABLE COMMUNITY

I am thrilled to share the school’s 2022-23 impact report, which shows the remarkable outcomes made possible by your generosity and unwavering commitment during this second public year of our $70 million Williston Builds campaign. As you scroll down, you will find a comprehensive account of our financial achievements, along with inspiring stories about how all of you are helping us build an even greater Williston. Of particular importance, the Williston Northampton Fund, our annual fund, achieved its highest-ever fundraising result, raising a total of $2.67 million in gifts from alumni, parents, and friends. In addition, generous, forward-thinking donors continue to commit significant resources to strengthen the school’s endowment, with a particular focus on enhancing financial aid, supporting our dedicated faculty, and launching initiatives that empower students to excel both inside and outside the classroom. We are incredibly grateful to all of you, and my hope is that this report serves as a source of inspiration—just as it does for us—to continue lifting up Williston as we develop the next generation of trailblazers, visionaries, and lifelong learners.

—Robert W. Hill III, Head of School

PARENTS SUPPORTING ACADEMIC PROGRAMS

Impressed by the excellence and innovation in teaching that their son, Ben ’23, experienced at Williston, current Trustee Brett Barth and his spouse, Natalie, established an endowed fund in support of the History and Global Studies Department. Understanding that academic opportunities outside the classroom are not always accessible to all families, the Barths wanted to ensure that other students had the same opportunities as Ben, which had such a positive impact on his growth at Williston.

THE POWER OF YOUNG ALUMNI

Our 15 youngest alumni classes (2008–22) made a BIG IMPACT!

Rosanny Gonzalez ’08

Rosanny is one of 7 young alumni joining the Head’s Visiting Council (an advisory group to the Head of School) this fall. As an ambassador for the school sharing both her time and expertise, Rosanny will play an important role in the strategic initiatives that will continue to move Williston forward.

Vikram Dalmiya ’18

As a new member of the Wildcat Club of the 1841 Society, Vikram is one of 38 young alumni leaders championing the Green and Blue. Leadership gifts (made as a one-time gift, recurring gift, or doubled through an employer’s matching gift program) are instrumental to the growth of the Williston Northampton Fund and help us build a stronger community.

George Goodhead '18 Memorial Basketball Tournament

A fast-paced and fun 3-on-3 basketball tournament was held to celebrate the memory of George Goodhead ’18 during Reunion 2023. Alumni, parents, faculty, and friends made gifts in memory of George which helped to unlock $1,000 in funding for the arts as part of a 5th Reunion fundraising challenge. The class of ’18 had 37 members make a gift in honor of their 5th reunion, an increase of 20 over last year.

REUNION CLASSES RALLY

Strong giving by this June’s Reunion classes played a pivotal role in helping us achieve our largest Williston Northampton Fund ever, accounting for 18% of our $2.67 million total. The class of ’73 celebrated their 50th by surpassing both their fundraising and attendance goals, while the mighty Williston Academy class of ’68 rallied classmates to support both the Williston Northampton Fund and newly-established Class of 1968 Endowed Fund for Financial Aid in celebration of their 55th reunion. The class of ’83 repeated their Founders Day Class Challenge win for most donors, and the class of ’22 gave 28 gifts putting them in the top five classes for most donors.
