Williston’s baseball program has a long and storied tradition, fielding a team every year since 1881. Currently, the Wildcats compete in the competitive Western New England Prep Baseball League. In 2007 the league grew from eight to ten teams and added playoffs, and Williston has made the postseason tournament many times. Fueling this success on the field are players who have gone on to play at the collegiate level, including the following schools: the University of Kentucky, the University of Hartford, Quinnipiac University, Fairfield University, St. Anselm’s College, Franklin Pierce University, and Bates College. Williston coaches work hard to prepare players to compete at the next level, but the program also prides itself on the way its players play the game: with great enthusiasm, intensity, and sportsmanship. The baseball program fields a varsity and a JV team, which use some of the best outdoor and indoor facilities in New England to work at the game. Williston makes an annual trip to Historic Dodgertown in Vero Beach, Florida, during Spring Break. In addition to games against other prep schools at the facility, players get the opportunity to practice multiple times a day, to go to a Major League Spring Training Game, and to hone their skills for a successful season up north.
