Dan ‘Pup’ Gould ’66

Daniel “Pup” Gould, class of 1966, was a standout three-sport athlete whose exceptional leadership and play defined his contributions to his Williston teams. In the fall of his senior year he served as a co-captain in football for Coach Rick Francis, helping lead the team to a 5-3 record. As a basketball player that winter—again coached by Coach Francis—he helped his team exceed expectations, finishing with a record of 13-6. Finally, in the spring, he played lacrosse and was co-captain of an undefeated team while earning All New England honors—cementing his legacy as one of Williston’s premier athletes of his era. At the end of his senior year, he was the recipient of the Denman Award, recognizing his leadership, character, and contributions to the athletic program. He continued his athletic career at Union College, where he played football and lacrosse for four years, captaining the lacrosse team in both 1970 and 1971 while garnering All American honorable mention honors as a senior. Without question, Daniel “Pup” Gould exemplified excellence, leadership, and dedication, and Williston is proud to honor his enduring impact on the school’s athletic tradition.
