After leading the girls varsity soccer team to one of its best seasons in in the past two decades, Head Coach Sara Reid was named the United Soccer Massachusetts Coach of the Year.
The Wildcats went 12-4-4 overall on the year, including 10-3-4 in the regular season to earn the No. 5 seed in the NEPSAC Class B tournament in the fall. The Wildcats then pulled off two upset wins to reach the Class B championship game, beating No. 4 Pingree 3-2 and No. 1 Dexter Southfield 1-0. In the final, the Wildcats dropped a hard-fought game to No. 6 St. George’s School, 1-0.
“I’m incredibly honored to be named Massachusetts Prep Coach of the Year, but the recognition belongs to this team,” Reid said. “When you have a team of strong leaders and true athletes who hold each other accountable, demand the best from one another, and still support each other through it all, it creates a special bond. The way this group fought for each other every day made them a joy to coach and made my job easy! I am so proud of this group of female athletes.”
The hardware for Coach Reid was her first since taking over the program in 2021, and highlights how she has helped guide the Wildcats back to the top of the Class B table.
“Our team motto is ‘zero ego all heart,’” Reid said, “and this team could not have followed that more clearly.”
In addition to the award for the coach, a host of players also earned recognition for their efforts during the season. Evans Welch ’28, Peri Burns ’28, and Zoe Melia ’27 were all named WWNEPSSA All-Star Game participants, while Melia and Jayla Peets Butterfield ’27 were named NEPSAC Jr. All-Stars.
Catie Putt ’26, Skyler Walker ’26, and Marion Ayeh ’26 were honored with All-NEPSAC selections for their stellar seasons, and Jayme Cerasuolo ’26 and Scarlette Graybill ’26 were named All-NEPSAC Honorable Mention.
