Williston Northampton School is delighted to welcome Glenn Jones ’95 back to campus as the keynote speaker for our 185th Commencement on May 23.
Jones, who was a postgraduate boarding student from Bermuda at Williston, is an Emmy Award-winning evening news anchor for NBC10 Boston with a dedicated commitment to public service. Before his NBC10 role, Jones worked on air in Massachusetts and Florida, served as press secretary to the Premier of Bermuda, and served as interim CEO for the Bermuda Tourism Authority. He is currently a volunteer and advocate in the Boston area for social justice, youth literacy, and addiction recovery.
“I’ve been hoping to have Glenn speak at Commencement since shortly after I met him, given his public facing role at Boston’s NBC affiliate and his life experience,” said Head of School Robert W. Hill III. “He’s a very engaged alumnus for the school, serving on the Head’s Visiting Council, and before that always being one of our Bermudian alumni stalwarts. I love that he shouted out Williston in his role at NBC Boston when covering Gabby [Thomas ’15]’s Olympic exploits, and know that whatever remarks he delivers at Commencement, he will capture students’ attention.”
Jones was most recently back on campus during Reunion 2025, when he was recognized with the Williston Northampton School Medal during our Alumni Awards ceremony. The Williston Northampton School Medal is presented to an individual who has made significant achievements and contributions to their profession and/or community.
In addition to Jones, the class of 2026 selected Lauren Martinez ’26 to give the class Commencement speech. This year’s Commencement ceremony starts at 9:30 a.m. The ceremony, including Jones’s speech, will be livestreamed on our website. For more on Commencement, click here.
