Introducing our Athletes of the Week program! Each week, Williston coaches nominate one student-athlete from their team who stood out by demonstrating our core values of purpose, passion, and integrity. These athletes show exceptional dedication, leadership, and sportsmanship, both on and off the field, embodying what it means to be a Williston Wildcat. Read below for more information on each of the Athletes of the Week.
Evan Sood ’26 – Boys JV Basketball
Evan Sood led the JV boys basketball team to a 1-1 week. Against Taft, his clutch rebounding, timely scoring, and stifling defense helped preserve a one-point victory in an exciting game. Against Deerfield on Saturday, Evan was a bright spot in a tough loss. Evan brings focus and energy to every practice and game. He works hard to get better as a basketball player and a teammate and sets a great example for everyone on the team.
Morgan Dulude ’26 – Girls Varsity Basketball
A co-captain of the girls varsity basketball team, Morgan sets an incredible tone in both practices and games with her relentless effort, high compete level, and positive support of her teammates. Morgan’s defense and rebounding have been keys to the team’s success, and it has been wonderful to see her confidence grow on offense as the season has progressed. With a great balance of three-point shooting and hard drives to the basket, Morgan’s offensive production has been a big reason for the team’s current four game win streak. Morgan is a great leader for this team in every way.
Gabriella Dybacki ’29 – Girls JV Basketball
Gabi is one of team captains this season, and from the start she has been a steady and positive presence both on and off the court. She works hard in practice while also keeping things light, often finding ways to make her teammates laugh and boost morale. This past weekend against Wilbraham & Monson Academy, Gabi led the team in rebounds, showing her willingness to do the hard work in the paint. Gabi consistently gives strong effort on the court and pushes herself even when she is tired. She is willing to play wherever the team needs her and brings a level of adaptability that supports the team in a variety of situations. Her commitment and team-first mindset continue to make a difference this season.
Zola Piekarski ’26 – Girls Varsity Hockey
Zola Piekarski, a senior captain, has been a consistently strong contributor at both ends of the ice this season and throughout her time at Williston. She plays in all situations, including stepping in on defense for the penalty kill when needed, and does so with a big smile and relentless effort. Zola has also been an outstanding leader, leading by example and building strong connections with every member of the team.
Last week, Zola recorded a goal and an assist in the wildcats 3–0 win over Westminster, with her assist marking her 100th career point—a tremendous milestone. She is just the 12th player in program history to reach this achievement. On Saturday, she added another goal in an 8–0 win over Hotchkiss. We look forward to Zola’s continued contributions as we head into the remainder of the season.
Hannah Rezendes ’28 – Girls JV Hockey
Hannah has been a consistent, steady presence on defense, bringing reliability and focus to the ice every day. She is a quiet leader who consistently does her job and leads by example through her actions. Hannah defends the blue line with strength and determination, and her effort in practice never wavers. Her commitment to the details and willingness to put in the work make her an important part of the team’s success.
Deacon Golderer ’27 – Boys JV Squash
Deacon consistently works extremely hard in both training and matches, focusing on improvement rather than his position on the ladder. He is a devoted and hard-working squash player admired and loved by his teammates. In his recent match against Pomfret, he showed excellent court awareness by always recovering to the T and combining effective drop shots with well-placed shots to the back of the court. He consistently dictated the tempo by blending tight drop shots with crisp volleys, accurate rails, boasting when necessary, and punishing returns into the phone booth. His recovery to the T was disciplined and automatic, allowing him to dominate the middle of the court, cut off angles early, and apply constant pressure throughout rallies.
Emma Hwang ’27 – Girls’ Varsity Squash
Emma played an integral role in matches this week against Miss Porters and Canterbury. Against Miss Porters, Emma recovered from a one-game deficit to take the victory 3-1. Over the weekend against Canterbury, Emma managed to score a dominant 3-0 victory. In both matches, Emma remained steady and assured in her shot selections, using looping serves in combination with thoughtful drop shots end points quickly and efficiently. A great week for Emma and the Wildcats!
Simon Wright ’28 – Boys Varsity Swimming and Diving
Simon Wright has been a foundation for the boys swimming and diving team leading the distance group with effort and consistency. A regular top 3 finisher in dual meets and a big part of relays, Simon has been a quiet leader on a team with lots of loud voices.
Campbell Schulze ’31 – Girls Varsity Swimming and Diving
Campbell Schulze has had an incredible season for the girls swimming and diving team. Three first place finishes in individual events and a member of four winning relays, Campbell has been a massive part of the team’s current win streak. Campbell is a great teammate and a consistently hard worker in practice.
