Athletes of the Week

Introducing our Athletes of the Week program! Each week, Williston coaches nominate one student-athlete from their team who stood out by demonstrating our core values of purpose, passion, and integrity. These athletes show exceptional dedication, leadership, and sportsmanship, both on and off the field, embodying what it means to be a Williston Wildcat. Read below for more information on each of the Athletes of the Week.

Casey Muscato ’26 – Boys Varsity Cross Country

Casey has been running well all season and solidified his spot in the varsity 7 with another consistent performance this past weekend.  Though he has battled through some minor setbacks during the season, Casey is peaking at the right time and is poised to have a big day at this weekend’s NEPSAC championship meet. His coaches and teammates appreciate all he has contributed to the squad this season.

Finn Mailloux ’28 – Boys JV Cross Country

Finn has personified our team’s motto of embracing adversity throughout the season by working through some minor setbacks that have prevented him from running at his potential.  He has maintained a positive attitude, continued to work hard, and has been the consummate teammate since the first day of the season. The coaches appreciate Finn’s dedication to the team and know he has a bright future in the sport in the coming years.

Khloe Perrier ’30 – Girls Cross Country

We’re so proud of Khloe Perrier for her incredible dedication and progress this season! Despite joining the cross-country team later than most, she jumped right in with enthusiasm, showing up to every practice with a positive attitude and a smile on her face. Her hard work and perseverance are paying off, as she’s shaved nearly four minutes off her 5k time over the past two races—an impressive improvement! Balancing cross-country with her riding commitments shows just how committed she is to giving her all, and her steady progress is truly inspiring.

Jacob Waah ’25- Varsity Football

Jacob had a career game for the Wildcats in their 42-28 win over Exeter Saturday night! Jacob led the team with 9 tackles and 2.5 TFLs. He also had a sack and fumble recovery. Jacob always puts the team first and has been a tremendous leader throughout the season! The team will continue to rely on him for his leadership through example and strong play as the head into the final weeks of the season.

Ryan Wood ’28- JV Football

Ryan was a force on both sides of the ball this week for the JV football team. On defense, the freshman outside linebacker showed incredible toughness, coming up with tackle after tackle against fast and physical backs from Loomis and Fay.  He also stepped up with two big takeaways.  He took the team on his back with a key interception against Loomis deep in the Wildcats own territory.  On this play, he pulled a 50-50 ball away from the receiver, showing both physical strength and a high level of competition.  Similarly, he forced and recovered a fumble in the 4th quarter against Fay, ripping the ball out of the hands of a very tough runner to turn the momentum of the game. Offensively, Ryan combined for more than 200 all-purpose yards at tailback and receiver over the course of the two games.  After his fumble recovery, Ryan carried the ball on every play of our ensuing drive, finishing with his first rushing touchdown of the season. Ryan’s toughness and desire to compete have made him a leader in all aspects of the team throughout this season.

Violet Carroll ’25 – Varsity Field Hockey

Violet has been the heartbeat of the varsity field hockey team all season. She truly has embodied what it means to be a leader. At practice, Violet knows how to balance being fun and goofy while pushing the team to improve. Her positivity creates an environment of improvement, she is consistently trying new things and constantly encouraging her teammates to do the same. This vocal leadership leads to outstanding play. Violet’s hard work has led to many pivotal game moments. She draws corners and sees the field in a way that sets her teammates up for offensive plays and defensive stops. This week, Violet was crucial in propelling the team over class B opponent Dexter, helping to secure a 3-2 victory. With the final week of the regular season approaching, there is no doubt Violet will keep up the outstanding work!

Audrey Capshaw ’27-JV Field Hockey

In her third season playing goalie for JV field hockey, Audrey has been a defensive force in the cage. In a tough loss to Berkshire earlier in the year, Audrey had more saves than her coaches could count, holding Berkshire’s offense at bay over and over. She has performed consistently in game after game, giving her team the best chance to win by holding opposing teams to low scores. There have been two strokes called this season—one versus Suffield and one versus Loomis, an unprecedented occurrence in the world of JV field hockey! Audrey proved her skill as she blocked both strokes, sending her team into uproarious applause. In the Suffield game, Audrey’s successful block kept the game at a tie in a thrilling match against the teams’ rival school. Audrey continues to impress, and her coaches and teammates look forward to seeing what she can accomplish in the final two games of the season.

Sokichi Sullivan ’25- Boys Varsity Soccer

Sokichi, a senior co-Captain, demonstrated outstanding grit and determination on Saturday against local rival Deerfield Academy. Sokichi has been recovering from a high ankle sprain that has kept him out for most of the month of October.  He dug deep within himself to give the Wildcats the mental lift that they needed to defeat Deerfield 2-0 and continue their march towards the playoffs.  Sokichi battled through pain as he shut down Deerfield’s attack on the left wing, and he demonstrated tremendous hustled while playing forward to put pressure on opposing defenders. His leadership and selflessness inspired his teammates to give their best effort on Saturday, and these qualities will be critical factors for success if the Wildcats are to make a run in next-week’s Class B playoffs. Sokichi is back in action this Wednesday when Williston hosts Kingswood-Oxford on Senior Day before they finish the regular season away at NMH on Saturday.

Sako Livley 25-Boys JV A Soccer

Sako Lively has been a stalwart, stand-up player for boys JVA soccer all year long, and arguably its best two-way player this season. He contributed a key goal in the defeat of Salisbury early in the week, and helped power the team to another 3-0 win this past Saturday. He’s played all season on the left, despite being right-footed, but has hardly made a faulty step all season. He is an exemplary player both in terms of effort and coachability and is often the first player to help gather equipment or assist the coaches in doing so. He is a joy to coach and work with, and true representative of the best that Williston athletes have to offer.

Campbell Keenan 29-Boys Junior Soccer

Campbell has been a workhorse for the boys juniors soccer team this year.  He shows up to practice every day with enthusiasm, and never complains about putting in the work to get better.  In games, he is a leader who plays the right way, consistently putting in effort. Some of the games haven’t gone to script, but Campbell doesn’t complain; he simply grinds.  The coaching staff appreciates Campbell’s leadership through his work ethic and positive attitude.

Catie Putt ’26 – Girls Varsity Soccer

Catie’s remarkable blend of speed, competitiveness, and strong defensive play helped girls varsity soccer secure a dominant 4-0 win over Hopkins in their last Class B game of the season. Catie’s athleticism and their relentless drive was a key factor in the team’s success. On Saturday as a defender, Catie showcased her physicality and positioning, making critical tackles, interceptions, and clearances on a very talented Loomis offense. Catie plays a crucial role for the Wildcats, and the coaches appreciate her willingness and ability to jump into any position!

Stella Michalski ’25- Varsity Volleyball

Stella has been an important piece to the success of the varsity volleyball team this season. She continued this role as she demonstrated incredible effort this week. She consistently ran down every serve and free ball, all the while finding ways to encourage her teammates. Stella has always been a senior leader on this team, but at this time in the season, her attitude and effort have been invaluable. Stella made multiple saves in the game against Ethel Walker and got touches on almost every ball that went her way. Her positivity is infectious, and her work ethic is a model for all players on this team. Stella will be missed next year but she is leaving behind a legacy of tireless effort.
