Hall of Fame 2026

Jake Ross ’16 2016

John D. Ross IV, known to most as Jake, distinguished himself as one of the most versatile and accomplished athletes in Williston history during his two years on campus. In the fall of his senior year, Jake came out for football for the first time in high school. As an example of his exceptional athleticism and competitiveness, he not only earned offensive MVP honors as a receiver, but he also set a school record for the most receiving yards in a season with 844 yards in 8 games to go along with his 45 receptions and 10 touchdowns. In basketball, Jake’s accomplishments were truly noteworthy—he served as a two-time captain, earning MVP honors both seasons, while helping to lead Williston to our first ever NEPSAC boys basketball championships in both 2015 and 2016. In lacrosse, Jake continued his exceptional play, earning MVP honors as a junior and captaining the team as a senior. At the end of his senior year, Jake was named a recipient of the Denman Award, recognizing his exceptional leadership and impact on the athletic program. After graduation, Jake went on to enjoy a historic collegiate career at Springfield College, where he became the program’s all-time leading scorer with 2,634 points. He earned multiple All-American honors, broke numerous school records and led Springfield to its first NCAA Final Four appearance in program history. Following his graduation from Springfield, Jake played professionally in Europe for five years in both Bulgaria and in Luxembourg’s top league. Jake Ross’s extraordinary achievements, leadership, and lasting impact make him a most deserving inductee into Williston’s Athletic Hall of Fame.
