National Merit Semi-finalist status was granted to only 16,000 students nationwide, out of more than 1.5 million who took the PSAT. This represents approximately the top 1% of all test takers. Students who were awarded Semifinalist status have been invited to continue in the Merit Scholarship competition with the possibility of advancing to Finalist standing. One Williston student is continuing in the competition:
