Six Williston Northampton School seniors were honored today at a Williston Northampton School assembly for their high scores on the PSAT. Gabriel Davila-Bustamante, Sophie Gontow Calderon, Felix King, Molly Kinstle, Nikhil Sierros, and Noel Song were named Commended Students. Out of more than 1.5 million students who took the test, they placed in the top 3 percent nationwide. In addition, Davila-Bustamante scored in the top 2.5 percent of all Hispanic students taking the test.
A Letter of Commendation from the school and National Merit Scholarship Corporation, which conducts the program, will be presented by Academic Dean Greg Tuleja to these scholastically talented students. Davila-Bustamante will also receive a letter from the College Board National Hispanic Recognition Program.
Students who scored well on Advanced Placement exams were also honored at the ceremony.
Recognition as an AP SCHOLAR is granted to students with scores of 3 or higher on three or more AP exams. These students were named AP Scholar:
