Tom Lawry ‘19 – Boys Varsity Water Polo

Tom has had a great season for the Boys Varsity Water Polo team this fall. This past week he focused the group for tough matches against Choate and Suffield, leading the way with 4 goals over the week while playing aggressive defense. As the team’s co-captain, Tom has been an instrumental leader for the younger players both in practice and games as he brings a consistently high level of competitiveness and enthusiasm every day. Tom represent the definition of what it means to be a team-first player and never hesitates to encourage his teammates to have a great attitude and work ethic. Tom will be hard to replace and will truly be missed by his teammates and coaches as he plays his final season for the Wildcats.

Julia Farnham ’20– Girls Varsity Soccer

Julia has been an unrelenting force for the Wildcats throughout the entire season. This past week, Julia scored her first goal of the season against Kent on Wednesday. Her strong play continued on Friday, as she played a huge role in the team’s 0-0 upset tie against a tough Suffield squad. Acting as the team’s “quarterback” in the middle of the field she has maintained an incredible amount of discipline no matter the opponent. Her hard work is unmatched both in practice and in games and her level of competitiveness brilliantly corresponds with her positive leadership and mental toughness.

Josh Ofili ’19 – Varsity Football

Josh has been a big part of the Wildcats success this season. This past Saturday, his fantastic play continued as he had yet another team high in tackles leading the Wildcats with 11.5 on the day. He has led the team in tackles in four of six games this year, proving his ability at safety. Additionally, Josh continues to be a strong presence in all three phases of the game as he positively impacts the Wildcat offense and special team units. He is a tremendous teammate and always shows strong leadership. Josh has grown to be one of the hardest workers on and off the field, and his work ethic has provided a great example for the rest of the squad.

Maura Holden ’19- Varsity Field Hockey

Maura has been a consistent and reliable force all season for the Wildcats. She continued to be a top-notch contributor as she had a big week in the team’s last two games against Wilbraham & Monson and Suffield. She racked up assists on Wednesday against WMA, helping the squad earn a 7-2 victory. She showed up strong again on Saturday, scoring a goal in the team’s 4-1 win against a strong Suffield opponent. She can control the play from the midfield and the entire team looks to her as a leader. She is consistently one of the hardest workers on the team both on and off the field, further exemplifying her leadership ability. Maura sets the tone of a high standard every week in practice and in games, and is truly one of the biggest reasons for the Wildcats success this season.

Tomi Akisanya ‘21 – Girls Varsity Volleyball

Tomi has been a great addition to the Girls Varsity Volleyball team this season. She has been working hard every day in practice to improve her game and the game of her teammates. Recently, against Suffield Academy, Tomi was a dominating force at the net both offensively and defensively. She showed her dynamic skills with multiple kills and key blocks during the 4th game. All of that was in addition to her reflexes and her willingness to play her heart out for the betterment of the team. She was instrumental in the team pushing the game to 5 sets. In addition to her skills she has brought a phenomenal attitude to every game and practice and, by doing so, has helped keep the Wildcats positive and enthusiastic all season.

Michael Curtis ‘21– Boys JVB Soccer

Michael has had a great season for the Wildcats this fall. This continued as he had two strong games this week against Deerfield and Suffield.  On Wednesday against a tough Deerfield team Michael had what could be the best single touch executed all season by the team.  At a critical juncture in the game Michael touched the ball deftly past his Deerfield opponent and then made a great pass to an open teammate. It was a great moment for Michael and an inspiration for his teammates. He works hard each day to improve his technique and soccer skills.  Always positive in his outlook, he takes coaching well at practice and in games and can always be counted on to work well with teammates.

Adamma Eze ’21- Girls JV Soccer

Adamma is a force on offense for the girls JV soccer team! She is constantly chasing down defenders and running after through balls that are played. She can control the ball well, helping the team advance down the field. During last Wednesday’s game, Adamma put herself in many scoring opportunities and was able to capitalize scoring two goals. In addition to her strong play, she is a supportive team member. She is always encouraging her teammates to be the best they can be and brings a smile to those who interact with her. Adamma has played a lot of minutes for the team and has been a huge part of the Wildcats success this season. The squad looks forward to her attacking offensive presence during the remainder of the season.

Will Strout ’20- JV Football

Will has been a strong contributor on both the JV and varsity football teams this season. In the Wildcats JV game this week, he had another great game on both offense and defense against Suffield Academy.  Will had some great runs and was an effective blocker in passing situations. On defense, Will led the team in tackles from his middle linebacker position. Will’s leadership has been critical to the team’s success as he is a positive example for the younger players through his effort and tough-nosed play.
