Introducing our Athletes of the Week program! Each week, Williston coaches nominate one student-athlete from their team who stood out by demonstrating our core values of purpose, passion, and integrity. These athletes show exceptional dedication, leadership, and sportsmanship, both on and off the field, embodying what it means to be a Williston Wildcat. Read below for more information on each of the Athletes of the Week.
Michael Downey ’28 – Varsity Baseball
Michael Downey is being recognized for his outstanding contributions and impact during his first full week back from injury. Mike has worked diligently to return to play, demonstrating a high level of commitment and consistency throughout his recovery process. In his return to competition, he delivered a strong performance on the mound against Westminster, pitching 4 2/3 innings and providing a key effort for the team. He followed that up with his first start in LF against Canterbury, going 1-for-2 with a walk and a crushed double off the fence.
Beyond his performance, Mike has been a tremendous teammate and leader. Throughout his recovery, he remained fully engaged, supportive of his teammates, and committed to the program. His positive energy and resilience have helped bring excitement and momentum to the team, making him a valuable presence both on and off the field.
Maddox Pemrick ’27 – Boys Varsity Golf
Maddox has worked hard on his game since the start of the season, and his scores have gotten consistently better. However, we were not prepared for his amazing performance in the match Saturday against NMH and Pomfret at Wyckoff CC. In addition to scoring a 2 under par 32, Maddox had a hole in one on the par 3 seventh hole. He followed that up with a birdie on the 8th and a clutch par on the 9th hole. His performance helped the team achieve a season best 9- hole team score of 188 (37.6 avg.). Maddox’s continued strong play will figure prominently in the team’s success in the coming tournaments and matches.
Camden Sadak ’28 – Boys JV Golf
Throughout the season, Cam has been a very reliable and consistent golfer who brings focus and composure to each round of golf that he plays. On Wednesday, he delivered an outstanding performance, earning overall medalist honors in a quad match that included three highly competitive teams. Cam’s strong play was instrumental in leading the team to victories over both Suffield and Loomis Chaffee. Cam’s consistency, determination, and ability to rise to the occasion make him a deserving candidate for this recognition.
Danielle Lu ’27 – Girls Varsity Golf
Dannielle Lu’27 led the Varsity Girls Golf Team in its first two tri-matches of the season with a perfect 4-0 record earning match play victories over her opponents from Choate, Kent, Westminster, and Kingswood Oxford. Dannielle got off to strong starts in both matches with scores of par or birdie to set the tone. During practice rounds, Dannielle focusses on accuracy and short game while encouraging her teammates with positive feedback. Dannielle uses her time wisely at the practice range and is quick to work on her weaknesses. As a three year player on the Varsity team, Dannielle is supportive of her younger teammates often cheering for their individual successes.
Noah Comrie ’27 – Varsity Ultimate
Noah has developed into a critical part of the Ultimate team’s offense. He has scored many goals in their most critical games. He has found confidence playing against both zone defense and person defense, finding gaps or attacking a weaker defender.
