Introducing our Athletes of the Week program! Each week, Williston coaches nominate one student-athlete from their team who stood out by demonstrating our core values of purpose, passion, and integrity. These athletes show exceptional dedication, leadership, and sportsmanship, both on and off the field, embodying what it means to be a Williston Wildcat. Read below for more information on each of the Athletes of the Week.
Brody Richardson ’26 – Boys Varsity Cross Country
Brody had an amazing start to the season with a second-place finish at the Brush Invitational at Deerfield Academy on Saturday. Brody’s time of 16:26 was just off the winner’s time of 16:21 and was the second fastest time ever run at the Brush Invitational. Brody worked extremely hard all summer and came into the season ready to have a great senior season. Brody will look to break his current course record on Williston’s course this coming Saturday when we host our first home meet.
Charlie Bertini ’30 – Boys JV Cross Country
Charlie, a new 8th grader at Williston, has had a tremendous start to his xc career. He has a great attitude and works hard every day at practice. Charlie ran his first race ever this past Saturday at the brush Invitational and led all Williston runners in the 3k JV race. Charlie should continue to see significant improvement during the season. The coaches are very excited about his potential as a cross runner in the future.
Zoe Simon ’26 – Girls Cross Country
Zoe is a returning member of the team and one of our three captains. She challenged herself in training last week, serving as a strong role model and consistently positive presence. Zoe’s encouragement and support are especially valued by our younger and novice runners, who benefit from her advice and upbeat energy. On Saturday, she ran a hard, smart race—impressively following her SATs that morning. We’re excited for her continued leadership and contribution throughout the season.
Keira Gould ’28 – Varsity Field Hockey
Keira missed all of last season due to injury but remained a core part of the team, coming and watching every practice and game. This season, Keira has made an immediate impact. Her observation has led her to become the heartbeat of the field, playing center back. Keira’s efforts helped the team to a decisive victory over St. Mark’s this week, where she scored her first career goal off a corner shot. More importantly, Keira has brought enthusiasm and joy every day. Recently, when doing conditioning during practice, she shouted, “This is so fun,” and challenged her teammates to find the same joy. We are so excited to see what the rest of the season holds for Keira!
Atticus Snow ’26 – Varsity Football
Atticus Snow was all over the field for the Wildcats on Saturday night in front of an amazing home crowd! He finished the game with five tackles, one Sack, and one tackle for loss. He also had three quarterback hurries. Atticus is the ultimate teammate and a great leader in all that he does.
Sebastian Fonseca ’26 – Boys Varsity Soccer
Senior co-captain Sebastian Fonseca Morales’ strong leadership of the Boys Varsity Soccer team has helped the Wildcats get off to a great start this fall. The team scored many goals during their preseason trip in Guatemala, and they continued their lethal offensive threat once they returned to campus by posting a 9-0 win over Pomfret on Sunday. Sebas, and his teammates, conceded only one goal in the first three games. The group connected with one another very quickly thanks to Sebas’ mentorship of the new players. The Mexico City native leads his team against very good competition this week as the Wildcats travel to Berkshire School on Wednesday and then head down to West Chester, Pennsylvania, to face Westtown School. Sebas and his teammates continue to push themselves every day to be the best players they can be.
Henry Estes ’27 – Boys JV A Soccer
Henry Estes played a pivotal role in the opening win of the season for JVA Boys Soccer, who defeated Berkshire 1-0 for the first time in years. Playing largely central defense, Henry snuffed out numerous dangerous breakaways by our opponent. In the period where he played midfield, he helped us control the play and had us looking our best, before being returned to the defense to ensure the victory. A quiet leader, Henry’s demonstrates incredible toughness and fearlessness, serving as a model of effort and effectiveness on the field.
Catie Putt ’26 – Girls Varsity Soccer
This week we recognize Catie, who set the tone in our home opener with relentless energy and determination. Known for her tenacity and work ethic, she gives 100% every time she steps onto the field. Her effort paid off in a big way as she scored our first two goals of the season, helping to spark the team’s attack and get us off to a strong start. She is also the player who is willing to play whatever position is best for the team and can adjust on the fly.
Catie’s drive, flexibility, and leadership are something we will continue to look to this season!
Hannah Davis ’29 – JV Volleyball
Hannah consistently has a positive attitude and strong communication skills. No matter what the drill or situation, she brings energy and encouragement to her teammates. Her willingness to speak up and keep communication flowing has elevated the team’s outlook on practice. She sets an outstanding example of what it means to be a great teammate both on and off the court.
Connor Graff ’26 – Boys Varsity Water Polo
Connor Graff has been a team leader for the water polo team from the goal over the first weeks of the season. This past weekend Connor made 9 saves against Brunswick and 14 saves against Choate, several huge ones against the opposition fast break. The team will continue to reply on Connor’s strong play as the team works to grow into their season.
