Introducing our Athletes of the Week program! Each week, Williston coaches nominate one student-athlete from their team who stood out by demonstrating our core values of purpose, passion, and integrity. These athletes show exceptional dedication, leadership, and sportsmanship, both on and off the field, embodying what it means to be a Williston Wildcat. Read below for more information on each of the Athletes of the Week.
Jack Berrien ’25- Boys JV Basketball
Jack capped off a 34-30 victory against Suffield last week by hitting a free throw to seal the game and put his team up by 4 points. Despite missing the second free throw, Jack grabbed his own rebound and held on while the final 5 seconds expired. It was a heady play that demonstrates what Jack brings to the team. His consistent effort in practice and games has been invaluable. In all the Wildcats games so far, Jack can be counted on for a key rebound, layup, or defensive stop. The consummate “glue guy,” Jack always puts the team ahead of himself. His teammates and coaches will rely on him for his leadership through example as they work through the remainder of the season.
Jackson Choo ’27-Boys 3rds Basketball
In Saturday’s game against Bement, Jack played a killer game on the glass, scooping up rebounds left and right and showing off his athleticism. Jack did a particularly great job on the defensive glass, limiting Bement’s opportunities for second chance points. In addition to his rebounding and defensive work, he chipped in with five points in the team’s win. His coaches look forward to his continued growth and will rely on him to raise the level of competitiveness for his team.
Quinn Martin ’30-Boys 4ths Basketball
Quinn is an exceptional athlete, consistently approaching practice with effort and focus, alongside maintaining good interpersonal dynamics. In previous games, he has been our scoring leader. However, in our most recent game Quinn took a more supportive role. He facilitated passes all over the court and utilized excellent ball control. Even with his focus on performing a more supportive role he was able to score 11 points to secure a win over Bement. Quinn will be an important piece of the Wildcats success this season.
Morgan Dulude ’26- Girls Varsity Basketball
Morgan, Junior guard has been a leader by example for the girls varsity basketball team this season. Her selfless play and hard work each day in practice set a great tone for her teammates. In games, her outstanding conditioning and her high competitiveness make her the cornerstone of the team. The Wildcats will look to build on this foundation that Morgan’s hard work and talent provide in the weeks ahead.
Barrett Clark ’26 – Boys JV Hockey
Barrett was voted captain earlier this season for the boys JV hockey team, and he has done a great job leading the team. He scored the team’s lone goal in Saturday’s tough loss to Pomfret. Barrett has been a strong leader, leading from the front, not shying away from any responsibility and he is a great role model for the younger players. The Wildcats will depend on him for his leadership and strong play as they work through the second half of the season.
Alyssa Frazier ’25- Girls Varsity Hockey
Alyssa has had an outstanding first half of the season, consistently being a reliable presence on defense. She has done an excellent job winning battles, making smart decisions with the puck, and helping her team to transition out of the defensive zone quickly. Alyssa maintains good gaps in the neutral zone and uses her stick effectively. She’s also been active on the blue line in the offensive zone, contributing to our team’s offensive efforts by creating space and getting shots off quickly. Alyssa recorded two assists in the game against Frederick Gunn on Saturday, and she consistently gives her best effort on the ice. Her teammates and coaches are excited to see her continued contributions all over the ice as they move into the next part of the season.
Cole Cavanagh ’26- Boys Varsity Swimming and Diving
Cole won his second diving meet in a row on Saturday while also adding great performances in the swimming events. Cole has been an incredibly important part of the early success for the boys team this year in both the meets and in practice. He has emerged as a strong leader of his teammates and his intensity is unmatched during competition. His coaches and teammates look forward to his continued contributions this season.
Audrey Dowsett ’29- Girls Varsity Swimming and Diving
Audrey has had a great start to the season for the girls varsity swim team and turned in some important swims on Saturday in route to a big win over St. George’s. A first-place finish in the 100 free, second place in the 50 free, and providing critical legs in two winning relay teams helped her lead the girls by example. She is a leader in practice who works hard, and her efforts have paid off in her performance. He Wildcats are looking forward to seeing her continue to perform at a high level the rest of the season.
Alicia Lindinger ’26- Girls Varsity Squash
In a three-match week, including a double header on Saturday, Alicia notched two wins on Saturday against Hotchkiss and Millbrook. Playing #5 for the first time, Alicia dominated Hotchkiss with a 3-0 win. After a suitable rest, Alicia returned to the court against Millbrook, and despite dropping the first set, Alicia came back to win the next three for a 3-1 victory. Most impressive during her matches was her short court game, as she expertly crafted each point to set herself up to hit a winner. The depth of her serves in the Millbrook match also helped her find an early advantage in each set, allowing her to close out the match with little added pressure. The Wildcats look forward to her continued growth and contributions as they work through the remainder of the season.
