32 Scholar-Athletes Commit to College Programs

;

A remarkable 32 seniors—a record for Williston—were recognized in a college athletic commitment ceremony on February 7. The scholar-athletes were recruited to institutions across the country in seven sports. Coaches, teammates, family, friends, and in one case, the family dog, were present to celebrate. Also on hand was alumnus Erik Ostberg ’14, a catcher with the Tampa Bay Rays organization.

“This is a special day for Williston and our athletic program,” Director of Athletics Mark Conroy told those assembled. “To be in a position to be a recruited high school student-athlete is pretty rare. At Williston, with respect to the class of 2022, over 30 percent will be playing college sports next year.”
