Language Teacher
Kelly Willis
Bio:
After serving for over two decades as an educator and administrator in Charlotte, NC, I am excited to relocate to New England and join the Williston community with my husband and daughter. I am thrilled to return to the classroom full-time to teach Spanish, coach girls volleyball and golf, and serve as a dorm parent in Memorial Hall East. I am passionate about making proficiency-based language instruction both purposeful and fun for my students, and am always looking for ways to provide experiential opportunities that spark curiosity, create connections, and foster authentic communication with others.
Education:
B.A., International Studies, Elmira College; M.S.Ed, Elementary Education, Binghamton University
Academic Interest:
I have recently rekindled an interest in how teachers can leverage Mind, Brain, and Education (MBE) science to deepen our understanding of how students learn to continually improve our teaching practices.
Fun fact:
I spent my high school junior year abroad in the Canary Islands, Spain as a Rotary International Exchange Student.
