Bio:
I just finished a Ph.D. in Chemical Biology, during which I taught an introductory biology class for five years. My dissertation focuses on a protein machine that grants gram-negative bacteria intrinsic resistance to antibiotics. Before graduate school, I attended Amherst College where I studied Chemistry and Spanish, played ice hockey and softball, and worked in the Chemistry Department as a teaching assistant and researcher. I am excited to join the Williston Northampton community to teach Chemistry and Biology, coach JV Girl’s Ice Hockey and Track & Field, and serve as a dorm parent in Logan House.

Academic Interest:
I am always interested in learning more about the world around me, especially at the level of fundamental scientific principles. Lately I have been curious about the chemical transformations involved in cooking and certain crafting techniques.

Fun fact:
I started ice skating on the neighborhood pond at such a young age, I don’t even remember the first time I stepped onto the ice.
