History and Global Studies Department
Bio:
At Williston, I teach History and oversee community service opportunities. Before coming to Williston, I taught students at an all-boys high school school in Sydney Australia before living on Boston’s northshore for several years where I taught in Marblehead, MA. Then I spent a decade studying and teaching at the University of Sydney. While in Sydney, I taught courses in writing, great books, historigraphy, and US history. I also ran the American Cultures workshop at the US Studies Centre, which brought together scholars from the Asia-Pacific region for interdisciplinary discussions about unpublished work.
Education:
B.A., History and Teaching Preparation Program, Yale College; M.A., History, University of Sydney; Ph.D, History, University of Sydney
Academic Areas of Interest:
I completed a PhD in History at the University of Sydney in 2019. My manuscript examines the U.S. army’s management of disease in different racial, military, and geographic contexts between 1870 and 1920. My research sits at the nexus of various fields including the social history of medicine, labor history, and US Imperialism.
