Bio:
I have taught studio art and art history at both the high school and college levels for 16 years, primarily in the Boston area. Originally from Victoria, B.C., Canada, I am interested in how making and looking at art can foster greater connection to self, community and the world, and deepen our humanity in these times. I have also studied and assistant-taught for two years at the Marchutz School of Art in Aix-en-Provence, France, and have exhibited my paintings and drawings nationally at venues including Musa Collective in Boston, The University of New Hampshire Museum, and Bowery Gallery in New York City.
Education:
B.A., Religion, Vassar College; Post-baccalaureate certificate, Studio Art, Brandeis University; MFA, Painting and Drawing, American University
Academic Interest:
I am interested in observational painting and drawing as a practice of deepening our essential humanity and connection to each other and the world.
Fun fact:
I enjoy lifting weights and practicing Iyengar yoga. I also like analogue technology like cassette tapes!
