Capital gifts are defined by their enduring nature. A capital gift may range from significant support of a strategic Williston Northampton priority to funding of a building or renovation project, from an endowed fund for financial aid or faculty excellence to sustained support of a special program. Since its inception Williston is fortunate to have benefited from generous capital giving by alumni and parents, but our school is a dynamic entity and its needs are ongoing.
Areas Supported through Capital Gifts

Financial Aid
Since its founding, Williston Northampton School has recognized that a diverse student body promotes cross-cultural dialogue, exposes students to a deeper and wider swath of humanity, and ultimately makes our community stronger. In order ensure we can uphold this commitment and continue to attract and retain a student body with a wide range of talents, interests, and experiences, we must increase our endowment in support of financial aid. We are committed to furthering this vision by raising funds specifically for endowed Financial Aid.
Student + Residential Life
What makes boarding school unique are the circles of support that each student develops–friends, teachers, teams, dorms, advisory groups, and classmates. Alumni and current students often point to the personal relationships they forged here as the best part of their Williston experience. We are committed to ensuring that all students are fully engaged in the life of the school, both academically and socially. To achieve this, Williston has embarked on a strategic initiative that is part of our broader Campus Master Plan: an ambitious undertaking to create a new residential quad with two new student dormitories and 60,000 square feet of green space.

Faculty Excellence
Williston students receive one of the finest educations available anywhere thanks to a wealth of academic and special programs and an exceptional faculty. Great teachers are the foundation of every great school. As an institution dedicated to academic excellence, the Williston Northampton School recognizes that the best teachers are always seeking to improve their skills. Vehicles for supporting Williston’s teachers include endowed faculty chairs, instructorships, academic programs, and professional and curriculum development funds.
Campus Life
Williston offers its students an array of co-curricular activities, with over 30 student clubs and service organizations and 31 varsity, JV, and beginner sports. Building leadership skills and cultivating responsibility through community service or student government requires a reliable source of funding. Nurturing artistic passion and creative vision requires patronage. Similarly, the success of Williston’s athletics programs depends on providing our student athletes with top-notch equipment and travel/training opportunities. Endowed program funds make the Williston experience richer and more robust. Endowed funds begin at $50,000.
