What is Areté and how can I become a tutor?
Areté is a student group whose members are invited to join based on their high-academic standing in the senior class. The organization provides tutoring, and Areté members fill out a questionnaire listing the classes for which they feel comfortable tutoring. They are then paired with a student who has requested help in that class.
How do I request a tutor?
Students may request a tutor at any time during the school year. Students may request a tutor by sending an email to firstname.lastname@example.org indicating the course or courses in which they would like tutoring and their free periods or other times they are available to meet with a tutor. An Areté tutor will then contact the student to set up a time and place to meet.
Areté also runs an exam prep clinic the week before trimester assessments.
For more information on tutoring, students should speak with their advisor or contact the faculty advisor for Areté, Karen Ram.
