The Middle School at Williston offers an educational experience characterized by active engagement. This spirit creates a positive spiral, so that students' appetite for learning continues in increase. It builds confidence, so that they are willing to stretch themselves—and free to be themselves. Faculty members guide students in learning and achieving, in developing their individual interests and talents, and in becoming part of a community.
The Whitaker-Bement Center provides a home base for our 80 Middle School students and a backdrop for their classes and activities. In this environment, where the average class size is 13, students and faculty get to know each other well. The relationships formed here support a powerful, collaborative learning experience, and these friendships carry on into the Upper School and often long beyond.
Williston also provides Middle School students with a wonderful range of facilities that they share with Upper Schoolers, including the library, theater, student center, athletic facilities, and most of the academic buildings. Middle Schoolers also share in activities, teams, and often classes with their older peers. Our relationship with the Upper School allows our students to advance their skills and find the right level of challenge.
