Make a Gift

Reunion Giving

Your reunion provides a wonderful opportunity to reflect on the impact of Williston on your life. Williston presented you with opportunities to learn and grow, to find your place in the world, and to start relationships that have stood the test of time.

Your reunion gift is a powerful way for you to be involved in the life of the school and guarantees that the students of today and tomorrow will be able to enjoy the same transformative experience that has added so much to your life.

During your reunion year, everyone is asked to participate by making a gift to the Williston Northampton Fund. Typically, alumni will stretch to make a larger gift in reunion years as compared to non-reunion years, and will make Williston Northampton a top priority in their philanthropic plans. Thank you for honoring your experience and legacy with a gift in celebration of your reunion.

The 25th and 50th Reunion Class Gifts

Alumni celebrating these milestone reunions will be encouraged to make a leadership gift to the 1841 Society during his/her reunion year, and pledge his/her support for the four years following reunion.

All gifts to Williston Northampton count toward the 25th/50th reunion gift, but gifts to the Williston Northampton Fund provide the cornerstone of these milestone reunion gifts. Gifts to the Williston Northampton Fund have an immediate impact and directly benefit our faculty and students, and support academics, financial aid, faculty support, arts, athletics, and the campus.

Alumni who make a leadership gift of $1,841 or more to the Williston Northampton Fund are recognized as members of the 1841 Society, and are invited to pledge that level of support for the four years following their 25th/50th reunions. The total amount of the gift and pledge will be counted in the 25th/50th reunion class gift totals.

Additionally, for those who are so inclined, gifts toward endowment, capital and planned gifts will also be counted in the 25th/50th reunion class gift total. The total amount of gifts received in the reunion year, as well as any amount that is pledged for the four years following, will be counted for the 25th/50th reunion class gift.

Alumni celebrating their 50th Reunion are also encouraged to explore planned giving vehicles such as charitable gift annuities, pooled income funds, and trusts. Bequest intentions and the designation of retirement plan assets will be counted as part of the 50th Reunion Gift total. Deferred gifts will be counted and credited, per School gift acceptance and crediting policies, on the date the donor signs the appropriate deferred gift agreement and provides appropriate documentation for the deferred gift commitment. The execution by the donor of an “estate gift intention form” is the preferred method of confirming the donor’s commitment. Alumni who document a bequest intention prior to or during the 50th reunion year will be recognized in the school’s Elm Tree Society.
