The Grubbs Gallery
The Grubbs Gallery serves two important purposes. First, it is a valuable educational tool for our Williston community. Second,
it supports both regional and non-regional artists, artisans, and
sculptors, providing them with an unique exhibition space on a
beautiful campus in the Pioneer Valley--which itself is rich with
artists.
I select monthly exhibits that will excite our students and expose
them to some of the vast artistic styles and media that exist.
Individual exhibitors are asked to give a gallery talk and/or to
discuss their inspirations, techniques, and medium choices with a
studio class.
The students find these sessions beneficial and enjoy asking the
guest artists questions: why they paint in a particular style, how
their work is political, why a certain subject interests them, how long
a piece took to complete, and everything else that comes to mind!
Every year, the Grubbs Gallery features a great line-up of shows. The
schedule often includes abstract and figurative paintings in oils and
watercolors, sculptures, etchings, collages, and more.
You can view the 2009-2010 Grubbs Gallery exhibition schedule online. Directions and gallery hours are listed here. We welcome you to any and all shows!
