The Williston Northampton School combines the academic traditions of Williston Academy, founded in 1841, and Northampton School for Girls, established in 1924. The merger of these two schools in 1971 resulted in a 125-acre independent, coeducational boarding school with 550 boarding and day students including 80 day students in a 7th and 8th grade Middle School.

Director of Research and Advancement Services
The Williston Northampton School, a prestigious, coeducational secondary boarding and day school located in Easthampton, Massachusetts, invites applications for a full-time, year round Director of Research and Advancement Services.
The Director of Research and Advancement Services is an integral member of the advancement team. This role is responsible for implementing a comprehensive program of research including identifying prospects, providing data and developing solicitation strategies for current and prospective donors to The Williston Northampton School. The candidate will work collaboratively with advancement program directors to monitor progress toward fundraising goals, as well as monitor all data and gift processing systems.
The Director of Research and Advancement Services will also fulfill specific research requests from other members of the advancement team, is proactive in increasing the pool of potential prospects, and focuses the attention of the advancement staff on key prospects and solicitation strategies. Research conducted by this position must meet the highest standards of quality, confidentiality, and accuracy.
The Director of Research and Advancement Services also oversees database administration, reporting and information retrieval, gift processing, and biographical records maintenance, and in collaboration with advancement program directors, develops policy and procedure statements to define how the system will be used to support fundraising operations.
The qualified candidate will have 3-5 years of direct experience with a comprehensive research program, be proficient in using all aspects of online resources and possess familiarity with a broad range of research techniques. The candidate must have excellent organizational, personal and written skills, and demonstrated problem-solving abilities. The ability to organize and manage a diverse range of assignments and projects with high efficiency, with thorough attention to detail and impeccable follow through is critical to this role. The qualified candidate will be highly motivated, intuitive, and able to assess priorities in a fast-paced environment. Bachelor’s degree preferred. Technical experience with relational databases and reporting tools, and/or familiarity with Blackbaud Raiser's Edge a plus.
