The Application Process

The application process generally begins the fall prior to the year a student desires to enter The Williston Northampton School.

By articulating your interests and requesting information, you will receive detailed information about our program and printed materials that answer many of your questions.

By carefully completing the application form, you will help the Office of Admission assess your candidacy. Once we have received all your application forms, you will officially become an applicant for admission to Williston.

Important Dates and Reminders

UPDATE (3/10/13): Please call or email the Admission Office at Williston if you are hoping to apply for the 2013-14 academic year. At this point, Williston will not be able to consider applications from students from certain countries for the coming year.

We will begin receiving applications in September and continue throughout the month of January. All applications are due in the Office of Admission by January 15. Financial aid applications are due on February 1. Supporting documents for financial aid applications should be sent as soon as they are available. Each application is then reviewed by an admission committee, which makes the final decisions on completed files.

International student applicants who will not be able to visit us on campus should be mindful of their need to submit an application as well as an official transcript before setting up a Skype or telephone interview. We ask that international students who do submit an application and an official school transcript contact the Office of Admission after that submission to set up a Skype or telephone interview. We will begin conducting Skype interviews in the fall. All Skype or telephone interviews must be completed before February 15 to ensure a March 10 decision.

Decision letters are mailed from the Office of Admission on March 10 and accepted applicants have until April 10 to respond. Decisions are made on a rolling admission basis for any student who applies to Williston after March 10. We encourage late applicants to call us directly regarding the availability of spaces for the coming academic year.

General Application Instructions

All applicants to Williston are required to provide the following:

• Application fee of $50
• Recommendation forms (download forms here):
  -School report form completed by counselor
  -Current English teacher recommendation
  -Current math teacher recommendation
  -Personal recommendation
• Student essays
• Parental statement
• An official school transcript (with a minimum of two years of credits)
• Grades from at least the first two quarters or first trimester for the current school year
• Testing information (SSAT, ISEE, PSAT, SAT, or TOEFL)
