Affording a Williston Education

The Williston Northampton School’s commitment to excellence is matched by a generous financial assistance program for qualified students whose parents are unable to meet the full cost of tuition. Attracting strong students is our objective. Financial assistance is granted without regard to race, religion, national origin, gender, or sexual orientation.

Each year over 40 percent of the students at Williston receive financial assistance. The allocation of financial aid is based entirely on a family’s level of need—the difference between the cost of a Williston education and what a family can afford to contribute—as determined by the School and Student Service for Financial Aid (SSS) and our Financial Aid Committee.

In recent years, we have awarded more than $5 million in scholarship aid to students in grades 7-12 and postgraduate, with an average boarding student grant of $31,800, an average Upper School day student grant of $17,700, and Middle School grants averaging $16,200.

Through a combination of financial aid, loans, and payment plans offered by the school and other lending institutions, the advantages of a Williston education may be made possible and manageable for many who do not think they could consider an independent school education for their child(ren).
