Photographer Robert Lyons '72
After Robert Lyons '72 got his start in photography at Williston Academy, he has been a photographer and has exhibited widely across the U.S. and Europe. His recent project Intimate Enemy provides a rare look at both perpetrators and survivors of the Rwandan genocide through black and white portraits. This project resulted in the publishing of Intimate Enemy: Voices and Images from the Rwandan Genocide. Currently, Lyons is the director of an MFA low-residency program in Photography at the University of Hartford. After discussing his work with an audience for the 2010 Photographers’ Lecture Series, Jordan Straffer '10 talked with Mr. Lyons.
