The Middle School at Williston Northampton
A Day School for 7th and 8th Graders
Serving 90 students in grades seven and eight, the Williston Northampton Middle School is known for its small classes, caring teachers and stimulating program. These students enjoy their own building, but they also have full use of the upper school facilities.
Each student’s course of academic study includes English, social studies or history, one of four languages (Chinese, French, Latin, Spanish), mathematics (including advanced courses), and science. All students also participate in art and music classes, and physical education or sports. In addition, 7th graders take theater, and 8th graders take health.
At Williston, you will also be involved in our athletic program. The team experience builds a sense of belonging, it's a lot of fun, and it teaches you the importance of winning with humility and losing with dignity—important life lessons. There are a number of Middle School teams, and some exceptional Middle School athletes have the ability to play at higher levels as well. Students also have opportunities to be involved in dance, theater, and music after 3:00 p.m.
Our classroom space is The Whitaker-Bement Center, named for the founders of the Northampton School for Girls. That's where most of our classes meet, yet you will have access to the entire campus. Middle Schoolers are day students in a boarding school, with all of the facilities that boarding schools offer: exceptional dining services, an indoor pool, a new theater, a student center, etc. The campus, as you will discover when touring the school, is impressive.
