Admission Office Personnel

Welcome to Williston's Office of Admission. Our office consists of seven admission officers and three support staff members. Please feel free to contact us. We would be happy to answer any questions you might have about the school or arrange a campus tour and interview.

Ann C. Pickrell, Director of Admission and Financial Aid
Ann Pickrell has been at Williston for 27 years and has been the Director of Admission for the past 16 years. She coaches Varsity Field Hockey and Varsity Girls' Golf, and she is a member of the Senior Administrative Staff.

Ara Brown, Associate Director of Admission
Ara Brown teaches Psychology, coaches track and field for boys and girls, and is an advisor for TRIBE. He joined the Admission Office in July 2009 after being the Associate Dean for Student Programming at Williston since 2002. He previously worked for the Klingenstein Center for Independent School Education at Teachers College at Columbia University as their Program Coordinator and is currently enrolled at the University of Penn to get his Doctorate of Education. Ara is Dorm Head of Ford Hall where he lives with his family.

Allison L. Marsland, Associate Director of Admission
Allison Marsland has been a member of the Admission Office since 1992. She is Dorm Head of 194 Main Street (the 9th Grade Boys' dorm), where she lives with her partner, Maria Rello, and their three sons, Denison '13, Zachary, and Matteo.

Derek Cunha, Assistant Director of Admission
Derek Cunha has been a member of the Admission Office since 2006. Derek coaches Varsity Boys' Ice Hockey and is a dorm parent in Mem West.

Winston Miller, Assistant Director of Admission
Winston Miller joined the Admission Office in 2007. He has a background in Admissions, previously on staff at Connecticut College, the Fay School, and the Park School. He is a member of the Writing Center Staff during evening study hall and coaches Boy's Basketball. 

Caitlin Church, Assistant Director of Admission
Caitlin Church joined the Admission Office in 2008. She has four years experience at the Darrow School as an admission officer. She is also the Girls' Varsity Water Polo Coach.

Mike Athas, Admission Officer
Mike Athas is a recent addition to the Admission Office joining us in 2009. He played baseball during his attendance at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. Mike coaches boys varsity basketball and boys JV baseball. He lives in Ford Hall with his wife Taryn and dog Ripken.

Kathie Morrison, Admission Office Manager
Kathie Morrison has worked in the Admission Office for eleven years. Her daughter, Emma, graduated from Williston in 2002.

Sandra Wittig, Receptionist/Admission Secretary
Sandra joined the office in 2000 and is our official greeter in the Zachs Admission Center.

Rosemary Laporte, Admission Assistant
Rosemary joined the Admission Office in 2008 after working at Smith College.
