Signature
Programs

Williston’s Signature Programs are designed to make sure your educational experience here extends beyond the classroom, connecting you through technology, supportive relationships, and visiting artists to the big ideas of our time.

Ninth Grade to the CORE

Beginning with an overnight orientation trip and continuing through the year with special workshops, assemblies, and projects, the Ninth Grade Program is designed to foster Curiosity, Organization, Reflection, and Empathy.

The Grum Project

Launched in the fall of 2016, the Grum Project is Williston’s five-year visiting artist program. Funded by a generous alumna from the Northampton School for Girls, the Grum Project brings artists of all kinds—musicians, actors, visual artists, dancers, and more—to campus for mini-residencies so that the entire Williston community can participate.

Writers' Workshop

For more than 20 years, Williston’s Writers’ Workshop Series has brought celebrated authors to campus to teach, share insights on the writing process, and inspire the next generation of writers. For students in the Writers’ Workshop class, the trimester involves the study of a visiting author, culminating in a master class and community-wide reading.

Photographers' Lecture Series

Each year, an outstanding group of guest documentary photographers, photojournalists, commercial photographers, photo editors, and others involved in the field, visit campus to show examples of their work and offer technical and creative advice to student photographers.

Curricular Technology Program

Our Curricular Technology Program teaches you how to use technology thoughtfully to communicate, solve problems, and think critically. Microsoft’s Surface Pro is the centerpiece to this system that connects you to classmates and teachers.

Academic Concentrations

Williston offers our most passionate and motivated students the opportunity to sharpen the focus of their high school coursework by fulfilling the requirements of an academic “concentration” in one of four areas of study.
